By day I work a normal job. By night (actually weekends) I am a Paranormal Investigator for Ghost Vigil Investigations located here in Kansas City, Missouri. Naturally this book appealed to me on many levels. This is a must read for anyone who is interested in the paranormal. Not only will the curious observer of the paranormal be drawn into Will’s quest for answers but the seasoned paranormal professional will find it enlightening, fascinating and often times nodding their head in either agreement or disagreement. There are parts in the story I can completely relate to. I found myself a few times thinking to myself YEP, that is so true. There people from all walks of life in the paranormal community. This goes for each end of the stick. You will find movers and shakers, people who’s specialty are for seeing and banishing demons, cleansers and witch doctors. You will also find that clients who’s homes are reportedly haunted are sometimes in their own little world as well.

Will travels around the world visiting people you would never dream to encounter in everyday life, trying to get to the bottom of his own belief system. Along the way you will find the book makes you a little scared, insightful and a lot of times laughing at silly things being said or done. This is definitely a book I would recommend to anyone and will be adding to my library. A friend of mine lent it to me and told me a had to read it.

My Review:
In the second novel by Colleen Gleason, the reader will have so much more to look forward to. You have the history of Victoria and her family. She has already established the Venator powers, now it is time to kick some vampire butt! When I picked this book up, I did not set it down until I finished it. Colleen’s writing skills improved immensely, I loved the fact that you learn even more history of the Gardellas and Venators. Victoria’s character is so witting and charming yet, controlled and all business.
The book starts one year after her mourning of the ending fight in the first book. Max left for Italy shortly after the fight in book one. Queen Lilith has been banished to the mountains not to bee seen for sometime. However, her son is on the brink of controlling the world. Victoria must go to Italy to help stop Lilith’s son from rising to power. In this book, both humans and vampires work together to stop the forces that are brewing. Victoria learns even more about herself and her Venator abilities and history. There are many surprise elements within the book that will make you both happy and sad. I can not wait for the third book to arrive!

My big birthday

Today is my birthday! yippee! I guess. it is just another day anymore. I have been through all the "big" birthdays. Today I do not get to purchase various over the counter illegal oddities such and booze and smokes, I already get to vote. My insurance has gone down as far as it will go until I have a child or get married. What exactly is there to look forward to? I think this birthday has impacted me more than last years. I turn 31 today. Now I can not say that I am that lovely number 30. I am over 30. That just sucks. O well. I am already enjoying myself, I am on vacation for an entire week and I loving it. I purchased myself a laptop for my birthday. This is my first laptop ever and I am completely in love with it!

Today I am not going to do a while lot. I am goign to go out to eat, I'm thinking Carrabas. Other than that, I will sit back relax and work some more on current RIP II challenge book. It is a perfect day for as it is rainy here.

My Input

Actually when I found out that this book was not in the regular fiction area or Sci-Fi Fantasy section of the store I had a fleeting seconds hesitation. Carl V has never let me down in anything that he has recommended to me so I went with it. Having worked in a book store I know that I have read numerous novels out of the Romance section that I thought really did not belong there. I am so glad that I did not let the second of hesitation get the best of me.
I love the era this book was set in. Colleen Gleason did a fantastic job of this.
I really fell in love with the character Victoria from the get go, She was young, vibrant and daring. At such a young age most women would not know how to handle such a feat that Victoria was to handle; debuting for the first time in 2 different aspects. Her love life and her becoming a Venator (Vampire Hunter).
All the different characters in this book have their own individual personality leaving you yearning for more about each and every one of them. Colleen Gleason without a doubt in my mind will be a cherished author in my book from this day forward. I have read a lot of Vampire books and they sometimes seem like you are reading a different book with the same things happening. Not in this one. I picked up both books at the same as recommended, when I finished the last page on The Rest Falls Away, I dropped it and opened the second one immediately. I could not wait to continue the saga!!!!
I highly recommend this book. In fact it is already out on loan.

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows Book Review

I have never wrote a book review before, this is my first time writing one so please bear with me while I try to wile through this.

The seventh and last Happy Potter book was anxiously anticipated by so many people. I must give J.K. Rowling 2 thumbs up for all that she has put into this project. It had been more than a year since I had read the sixth HP book, but I had no trouble catching up on current events.

This book will not let you down one bit. It was a rollercoaster ride until the very end. It lets you actually feel the ups and down the characters in the book are going through. There were times I wanted to cry and times I had to laugh. A lot of books are not like this for me. Many people thought this latest Harry Potter expedition would let them down. In my eyes it did not do any such thing.

In this book Rowling does a wonderful job in the bringing to fruition the difference between Harry’s childhood and his becoming an adult. This book also has a more adult writing style. In all previous books Harry goes through many trials and tribulations with the guidance of many people. In this book Harry still has a little guidance but is not so dependant upon the people he surrounds himself with. Lessons within the book are fantastically written who is evil, who is not. It answers many questions we readers have been wondering throughout the series.

At the start of this book I feared the worst for the ending; however about ¾ of the way through the book it takes a very sharp turn of unexpected events while placing so many little tidbits in place. I had to stop a few times due to amazement of what I had just read. These events in the last half of the book impacted me like I was reading about my family.

I would highly recommend if you have not started the Harry experience to now embark on a wonderful ride. This series of books will impact this generation of readers like Lord of the Rings did so many of my generation.

A tiring weekend indeed

As I have stated I am working three jobs. My latest list of jobs is for http://www.spirithalloween.com/ Saturday was my day to work the street a lure poeple to come into the store. I had a choice of a few costumes but chose to wear the flapper outfit. I had just bought a wig that would go perfect with it. While I was out on the street I found it was a very tiresome job indeed but I had fun with it for the most part. This does not mean I want to continue to do this though. Here is a picture someone took of me. It felt like such a paparazzi moment. Needless to say my armpits got burnt that afternoon from waving to people. Next time I will make sure I wear sunscreen.

Wow! Its been more than a year!

Well it has been more than a year since I have looked this blog up. I have done absolutely nothing with it and have thought many times over that I should get back to it. I have my daily commitments to about 4 different sites that take up a lot of my time. But why the heck not start something else up, its not like I have time, why not pile something else on my plate?

For the purpose of the the R.I.P Challenge I am picking this up again. I will post a little more about it as soon as I RE-figure out how to get this back up again.
I do have many things to say, I have had so many changes in the last year. Some good, some not so good.

Launch Failure

Sometimes I feel like I will never launch. This past Saturday was no exception. I have for the third time taken my National Certification Test for Massage Therapy and Bodywork. For the third time I failed it. Imagine how this made me feel. Like a piece of poop honestly. The first time I took this test I missed it by one question. Yes one question. I felt like a putz then. The second time I studied a little harder and still failed. Now the third time (let me tell you, I am a Libra which is known for its procrastination) I worked my ass off studying. Thing is I have been told by a friend that I waited to long to study my ass off. I studied for a minimum of 3 hours each night for 2.5 weeks. Apparently this was not enuff because I failed once again. This time I was in shock and felt nothing but my life slipping away from me. I have worked for almost 10 years for this dream. I have started to feel like this is not my calling in life but somehow I will not give up on this dream. I feel so good after massaging people. From what I have been told and actually read is that after the third test you have to wait a year to take the examination again. I got my “official” test results today from the board stating that if I wanted to take the test again I would have to send my million dollar check to them once again……. I thought to myself, why are they not telling me I have to wait a year? So I called them and got wonderful news….. I have to re-apply and can take it over in three months. After taking this exam you would think that I know this stuff back to front but apparently I am not a good test taker. I never have been really. But this time I will do it right and pass!

About a year and a half ago my work had a Mardi Gras themed party with a psychic there. It was all in fun and games, but I decided to see what she had to say. I can not recall asking her about my where I will be career wise but she decided to tell me anyhow. She told me that what I wanted to do was not going to happed for awhile. To put it in my back pocket and keep it there. It would be better for me to go into Kansas to work. Well in Kansas you do not have to Nationally Certified. I put very little stock into what she told me all these months. I have seen a few psychic but put very little stock into what any of them have said. To me it is just fun really. Did she really mean what she said? I’m starting to think that there was a little truth to what she said. This has been in my back pocket for almost a year. When I failed this last test the only option I had for work was to go to the Kansas side. Just made me think. But honestly I think you have some control over your fate and I am not going to make that my fate, I will not keep this dream in my back pocket, I’m going to move it to the forefront of all things.

An Unusual Sadness

Today I was riding the highways of movie trailers and found a sad thing. I guess this is selfish and he would not appreciate but one of my favorite actors is basically retiring from martial art masterpieces. Jet Li. I have grown to love Jet Li and his acting career. To me he is the best martail artist since Bruce Lee. Not one to love Martail Art films profusly, but I do enjoy them. I can not sit and watch hours of martal art films. But Jet Li? I love the marathons on Spike TV. I first discovered Jet Li in Black Mask. It was not a huge hit in the theaters but I was given the opportunity to see it on the big screen back in 1999. Since that time period, I have tried to watch as many Li films as I can find. I do not have the money to invest in many of them so there are a few I have not seen. I even have a hard time picking a favorite. I think that my top two are Twin Warriors (1993) and The Legend (1993). There is also the epic trilogy Once Upon a TIme in China.
Li's newest creation "Fearless" looks no doubt like the best "Americanized" to date. You can catch a preview here.

The maddness continues!

Full Moon Madness

I'm going to make this quick and dirty! I have spent the last 30 mintes trying to post and lost everything! This is not the first time this has happened to me.

Let me just say this has been a full moon madness day.....

Hopefully I can get a decent post up by the end of the weekend.

Not so happy hunting in Georgia

Where to start, where to start. Below is a picture of our hunting packs. It is complete with all of the ameture ghost hunting supplies. Digital camera, flashlight with red lens, digital thermometer, compass, disposable camreas, a cell phone, a note pad to log any kind of activity or occurances, I digital audio recoder and last but not least lots and lots of batteries! What is not shown in this picture is two infrared cameras that detect any movement. We were ready to "catch us a ghost" or some kind of paranoraml experience be it EVP, a feeling, or some kind of happening. Well, none of that happened. We stayed at the 19 hundred 70 hotel in room 204, this is widely known as "the haunted" room or simply Anna's room. There are a few variations to the story of Anna and the hotel itself. We did not experience anything unususal while in Savannah anywhere. The beauty of the place made up for it though.




The river front was also a sight, bustling with activity from dawn until dusk. Along the river front you will find Florence Martus, the famous waving girl. If you choose not to read her story I will give you a quick and dirty. Her man went to sea, told her he would return but never did. She stood on that pier for 44 years waving to the ships coming through. I will tell you right now, I would MAYBE wave for 44 minutes then say forget it! There are other sailors in the sea!
Thing is, I'm seeing a pattern here; Sailor and girl meet, girl falls in love, sailor leaves. Either woman kills herself or spend her life waving cloth at the sailors! Moral of this statement..... Sailors are BAD BAD BAD!

I'm guessing this is one of the ships she was waving at. There are gargantuan! These ships coming through block your entire view. The rail cars look like match boxes on these ships. Every time one came throug I stood in awe of them. I would watch, thinking to myself, "How in the WORLD do you build something SO immaculate to float?"



We went on Haunted tours, and walked the squares. It is just a serene place and I would love to live there. The one place that I regret being able to visit was Bonaventure Cemetary. This is the famous cemetary rich with history located a few miles outside Savannah. It is the final resting place of several characters in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil . I love old cemetaries with statuets and the such. I was at the mercy of other people so I guess I will have to wait until my next tip there to visit.

Web site of the day

I have been frequenting this web site for some time now. The pictures are truly phenomenal. J. Corsentino has taken live models and made beautiful artwork. At this site you can find an array of different species. Angels, vampires, faeries and much more. The costume design is very detailed and superb. What I would do for one of these costumes. I have contemplated many times starting my own project for the ultimate fairy costume. I have NO IDEA when I would actually find the time to even invest in such a thing. I do need sleep periodically. Below you will find a sample of some of the art featured on the site.

This picture looks to be the cover of the highly anticipated book by J. Corsentino to be released fall of this year. It will contain 64 pages fairy art in full color. I will be sure to have this one as soon as I can get my greedy little hands on it.

I encourage you to visit time of the faeries and have fun, there is also a section with some cute games to pass the time. Like we all have this huge amount of time to sit and play games. HA!

The Di Vince Code

Spoilers attached!!!

On another note; I went and saw the highly controversial "The Di Vinci Code" on Friday. It was a fairly good movie. There were a few times that I found myself trying to stay awake. Maybe I was tired. My outlook on this film is, if you did not read the book, you will not enjoy it as much, nor understand alot of the things in the movie. They did a good job of following the book, but as always, in my perspective, reading the book is always much better. They hit all of the key points, however, there were other points that were not added. Here are a few of my observations throughout the film.

1. When there was a description and breakdown of the Holy Grail and its mean so to say through the artwork of The Last Supper. They failed to mention some of Da Vincis’ fascination to adding things to his art. Such as the extra hand holding a knife located to the left of Mary Magdalin. This was never pointed out. This factoid, along with many others regarding Da Vinis’ paintings were noted in the book.

In the book there is a thorough explanation behind The Mona Lisa. This painting had little impact in the movie.

When Robert Langdon and Ms. Neveu were trying to break the code, they were led to Di Vincis’ uh, shrine or whatever you wanna call it. It’s late and I’m seriously drawing a blank on the word! Anyhow they found clues that they needed to embark upon their journey, This was poorly explained in the movie. The shot of this statue was very brief and you could not imagine what they are actually looking for. In the book, the statue is detailed in every aspect. When this was shot in the movie I found myself wondering what this point provided for the audience. It was finally explained but not in full detail.
These are just a few of the details that I questioned throughout the movie.

As far as the controversial hype in the media, well you should expect it. This reminds me of the controversy regarding Harry Potter and religion. This however points to a completely different aspect. Dan Brown reveals things unknown to the world such as The Opes Dei and the Illuminati (Angels and Demons). It also opens the power to question ones belief in religious systems especially Catholicism. My view this that there are many things in the world that can corrupt, but if you are strong in whatever spirituality/religion you practice or believe it should not be a problem. You choose to believe what is pointed out or you do not. There can be some form of controversy in the crack of a sidewalk to someone.......

HAPPY HUNTING!

I’m so excited! Today I sail to Savannah, Georgia and am stoked to be out of town, especially south. It’s a blistery spring day with a high of 50. It smells, looks, feels and tastes like fall outside! I can't believe this weather! It is just amazing. Not my problem today though! Actually this would be pretty good whether to catch me a ghost! TE HE.
I will have pictures and amazing stories upon my return!



Yesterday I was reading a book, called Witching Moon. Very good book. All the sudden this white orb comes dancing into my view and stays in one place no matter which way I look. This tiny pen light like orb was every color in the rainbow. It was so bright and vibrant that it was white with reds and oranges around the outside. After sitting still for just a moment it started flittering around. Now at first I thought it was just my eyeballs going bad on me from reading so much, I believe that is NOT TRUE. This thing flitted in and out, up and down for a good minute. I tried to catch sight of it again for the next few minutes to no avail.
I believe I saw a fairy! (or a ghost? um no.) :P

This has only happened to me once before and it was several weeks ago. It is just a weird thing. I had been in a kind of dapper mood the entire day but my sense of brooding kind of vanished after this. I think the fairy was telling me to cheer up! You’re going on a trip! I think they also wanted to let me know that they would like their fairy doors back in place and that the mole was back!

I made two fairy doors to stick against my front tree so that they may have a place to stay or come in and out of our world, they loved it! My dad moved them the other day to mow the lawn and I have not put them back. This requires a very intricate dance on the full moon at midnight. And NO! Not naked! Get your mind out of the gutter! With these fairies came my first mole, it is apparently their taxi service. I thought I had rid of it until I woke up yesterday to freshly turned dirt paths! ACK!

Ok these are my jumbled thoughts for the day!

My monthly check-up!

Well to be honest with you I just don’t know if I will EVER be an avid logger on this site. I will probably NEVER get it up and running. One thing that I’m unhappy about is that I am not happy with the format of the site among being a computer idiot (apparently) and not getting the things I want on the site. Not to mention that I have filled my schedule almost beyond my means. Working two jobs, 1 full time, 1 part time, traveling and I have recently entered into a leisurely vocation of “ghost hunting”. I have been inducted into a paranormal investigation team here in Kansas City called Ghost Vigil. I am not an investigator but merely there to help on the investigations such as running the camera, research, and logging events as they happen. I have yet to go on my first “hunt”. I will however be going on my first one early May. Hopefully I will have time to log about it.
In two weeks I am going to Savannah Georgia with my boss from work and am staying in a haunted hotel. I am SOOO excited! I ahve not been on a vacation liek this in it seems years! I don't get out very often.....




















What else is new? Well my kitty is getting big. I am warming up to him more and more each day. He is my constant companion when I am home.

I have finally gotten my tattoo finished and can’t wait for yet another! I swear this is such an addiction for me. I blame it on my parents! They took me to get my first tat when I was 15. That’s all she wrote. I will be 70 running around with ink all over my body. I hate to imagine what it will look like. O well it’s a way to express myself, I guess it comes with the generation.

New Family Member..

My spouse and I of nine years split almost a year ago. Actaully to be precise, it was exactly a year today. That's not the point though. As I have posted earlier we had a child. A two year old French Mastiff named Maya. I have missed her tremendously over the last year.
Since I became a sinlge entity I have been a little lonely at times and go to my borther's to visit his animals. 3 cats and 2 dogs. I also had a roomie that had two cats. Thus the first real introduction to a cats life. I can't say that I took to them immediatly, but I did come around after a few months. I have always been a dog lover more than a cat lover. About three weeks ago my brother took me "shopping" at the local pet house. He wanted to buy me a cat. Now honestly, I did not want a cat, I wanted a dog. I'm not home often enough to take care of a dog working two jobs. At the same time couldn't really tell him NO, heck he was more excited about it than I! Life with my very own cat had begun. Let me tell you, I thought raising a hard headed extra large breed dog from puppyhood was challening enough, but a cat? They say that cats are less work, more independant! HA! Not mine! God love him, he has almost put me at my witts end numerous times! Since I don't know much about cats maybe I should buy the Dummies Kitten book. This cat LOVES electrical appliances plugged in or not! I can not keep him away from electric cords, keys, earrings, etc. I know they love dangly things, some of these things are not dangly! What is the deal? I did have him declawed. I know MANY of you frown upon this but I simply can not have this cat tearing up my new furniture, I don't want to have to lock him in a room all day. What would be the point of having him? I am also not used to the nocturnal nature of these beings. When I am ready for bed he is full of piss and vinegar! He reminds me of a spider monkey on crack (not that I really know how that would be)!! I have gotten a little used to it though. I do love him more and more each day. He is there to greet me when I get home and is always happy to love on me. In fact he is sitting around my neck watching me type as we speak.
I wish I had a digital camera so that I could post a cute little picture of him. He is real a doll (when he's asleep). His name is Diesel and was born November 28, 2005. So yes I am dealing with a geniune kitten. He got his name from his motor. He sounds just like a diesel engine running constantly. The only time his motor is not running is when he is sleeping heavy or playing hard, other than that, you can hear him at the other end of the house.



It has actaully been a pretty good day today. I have yet to play any jokes though. I worked from 9 to 5. As soon as I got off I started calling various people with jokes I wanted to play, no one answered! Go figure.

Vision Crystal

Above is a picture of my latest tattoo creation. I want to thank Brian at
Bleeding Heart Tattoo for the wonderful artwork and dedication to this project. It took about 7 to 8 hours in all to complete this piece and let me tell you, it is beautiful. I have around 8 tattoos including this one from various artist around Kansas City and I will never go anywhere else again. This piece has been finished since mid to late February but it still needed some touch-ups.
It had been almost a month since I had been in the shop so Friday evening I decided to give Brian a call to see if we could find a time for me to come in and get the piece completely finished. He then told me some wonderful news! The shop was making a commercial and Brian wanted to use MY artwork in the commercial! The bad thing was that it was on Monday afternoon during work hours. I decided I would take off work anyhow and join the party. This is going to be my 15 seconds of fame! (Not that I have actually ever wanted to be on TV).
I arrived at the shop around 11:40 AM on Monday. There were a total of 12 people who were to be in the shoot. It was a blast! My part of the commercial was to be sitting there while Brian was giving me a tattoo. I really hope that my part is not that long because they say that the camera adds 10 lbs and I don’t need the added help trust me. Anyhow, while shooting the commercial, the camera crew asked if they could use a little footage because they were making their own commercial. This was for a contest a local rock station is putting on. 98.9 The Rock. They wanted a shot of someone really getting a tattoo. Well that would have been me because Brian was going to do the touch ups after the Bleeding Heart shoot. So I am now going to be in 2 commercials. I think that kinda rocks!

The first commercial, airing for Bleeding Heart will be shown on both TLC and A&E, during Miami Ink and Inked. The second commercial is for the radio contest. Now about me. I do apologize for the month delay in writing. I have suffered from various illnesses the past month. I am currently out of work with severe bronchitis. I went to the doc on Monday and she informed me that if I had not gotten in that day I could have gotten walking pneumonia. I thought to myself, well if you had not been vacationing on a sunny beach on Friday, when I originally tried to come, I would not be this bad off! Docs! Gotta love em....

I am still trying to figure out the basics of this blogging thing and it really frustrates me when I try to post something and have no idea what I am doing. I thought at one time I was a little computer savvy, but I am beginning to think otherwise. Please bear with me.

It is my last day off work and I am feeling much better, the weather outside is supposed to hit the 70 degree mark today. I am going to see what kind of trouble I can get into on a day like this.

Realization of others perspectives

So I'm at my mother's house the other night and she hands me this calendar and says, "I thought of you when I saw this so I just HAD to get it!" I asked her, " So..... what you got this because you think I am a geek?!?" Her responce was, "Well? Aren't you?"
Ok I guess MAYBE a little but come on, you don't have to buy me stuff that tags me as a geek. I have not quite figured out where I am going to hang this calendar yet, in deepest corner of the basement or at work.
Do I think I am a geek? Well not really but maybe a little, I have never been one to really care what people think to much, and do have some unique styles and tastes, but does that really make you a geek? How do you truly define whether one is a geek?

I am taking my National Certification for Massage and Therapeutic Bodywork next Saturday. I'm not afraid to admit that this will be the second time I am taking it. I have finally come to terms with my first failure (it was a failure by 1 question), moved on, and am ready to conquer the second test. I think it might help just slightly that I am actually studying for this one. That is one reason I have not launched this site a little better, I am trying to do something productive with my brain instead of sitting in front of the computer 12 hours a day..........

MY BABY

I will start out by introducing myself. I'm Jamie. This is my baby Maya. She lives in Milwaukee (with the Ex). She is three years old. I will have more recent pictures up soon.

I work two jobs, one for a mental health agency, (my night alias) a massage therapist. I am interested in many things but my passion is books, books, and more books! I also love movies. I hope I do not bore you to much with my babbling, I'm new at this and still playing around. This weekend I really have no big plans. I am going out to eat this evening, working Saturday and taking level two Reiki on Sunday. If anything eventfull happens I will be sure and inform you.
